Covid-19 Protocols | Golf Course & Velocity

Crgolf is open for the 2020 golf season, for your health and the wellness of our staff we are abiding by the recommendations provided by the Allied Golf Association of BC due to Covid-19.  See detailed practices outlined by AGA-BC>>

Key Points to note for all guests:

Advanced Bookings ONLY: Please book your tee time, Velocity Bay, academy lesson or driving range session online, by phone at 250 287 4970, or via email at golfshop@crgolf.ca. Walk-in’s will not be accepted during this time.

Tee Times: Begin at 8am, with 10-15 minute intervals, to allow for safe distancing between groups.

Arrival time: Please show up no earlier than 20 minutes before your tee time, to prevent crowding/line-ups.

Check-in: Will be done in the new retail shop. Please sanitize your hands before entering.

Power Carts: Will be sanitized before and after each use.

Bathrooms: The washrooms in Velocity, new locker rooms and the comfort station on #4 & #14 will be open and sanitized regularly.  

Food & Beverage: Will be provided through the Velocity take out window, on the patio and inside the lounge.

Social Distancing & Extra Precautions:
– Please keep at least 6’ from any other person (guest or staff) while at the course.

– If you’re showing any cold or flu like symptoms please stay at home.

– Staff will be taking necessary precautions to keep themselves and all equipment clean and sanitized regularly.

Velocity Covid Protocols

Your health and safety are top of mind, and with that we are following the strict protocols outlined by BCFRA  (click for details)

Hours are:
Lounge: Sunday-Thursday – 9am – 10pm | Friday + Saturday – 9am -11pm with Happy Hour on weekdays from 2pm to 6pm.
Range Bays: Sunday-Thursday – 2pm – 10pm | Friday + Saturday – 2pm -11pm

These include, but are not limited to:
*6 person limit per bay booking. *If there are over 6 people, your group will be split to another bay if available or will have to be turned away.
*Dividers between bays.
*New laminated menu’s to be cleaned after each use.
*Frequency in sanitization of all surfaces.
*Physical distancing measures between staff and guests.
*Reduced and spaced out, lounge seating.

*Required to take full information of every guest entering the building.

Beehives At CRgolf

In late Spring of 2020 we installed two bee hives off our #16 black tee box, which are protected by a 10’x10’ fence. The bees are a great addition to the course, and have worked hard for the past few months to make just enough honey to insulate and survive over the winter. Next year they should be set up for success and will likely be producing extra honey that we can then harvest and put to culinary use over at Velocity (fancy cocktails perhaps?). With training by Rachel Halliwell (local Comox Valley Bee Master), our staff members Brad Sinclair & Steve Kerbrat are learning to become our in-house beekeepers.
Fun fact: beeswax is formed on the outside of the abdomen of worker bees before being transferred to the hive.
